Dr. Peter Fowler is a graduate of the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. In 1975, he started his solo practice in Manotick. The initial location was The Manotick Dental Clinic and in 1990 the practice moved to its present location in the Mill Centre.
Dr. Fowler was a founding member of Remote Area Medical Canada which brings no cost medical, dental and eye care to remote areas of developing countries. For 20 years he was involved in providing optometric care to Amerindian villages in Guyana and Bolivia.
He is very proud of now seeing the grandchildren of many of his earliest patients in Manotick. He takes great satisfaction in working with a wonderful staff, some of whom have been together for 30 years.
Dr. Ellen Isok was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley. She completed her undergraduate and Doctor of Optometry degrees at the University of Waterloo.
She joined Dr. Fowler’s practice in Manotick in 1990 and shortly after they opened their shared practice at the present location on Clapp Lane. She is extremely grateful to have been able to care for the multiple generations of families over the years in this wonderful community and from surrounding areas and is proud to provide full scope care to all her patients using the latest technology.
Outside of the practice she is the proud mother of three sons and lives with her husband in the beautiful village of Merrickville.
Dr. Tanya D'Cruz is originally from Montreal, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology at McGill University. She is fluent in French and English, and can speak basic Spanish.
She graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2015, and later moved to Ottawa in 2017. She joined the practice in 2019.
In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and outdoor activites such as kayaking and hiking.
Dr. Bryanna Wood completed a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Chemistry from Dalhousie University. After completing a published honours thesis in optics, she decided to pursue a career in the field of optometry. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2016. Dr. Wood joined our team in 2018.
In her spare time, Dr. Wood can be found with her family. She is a proud mother of two daughters. Dr. Wood is originally from New Brunswick and enjoys using her time off work to visit family out East.
Dr. Wood looks forward to being your optometrist and truly values the community-centered care that our clinic provides to the people of Manotick and surrounding area.
Dr. Nikhita Chavda was
born in Portsmouth, England. She was raised in Waterloo, where she completed
her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science at the University of Waterloo.
She later moved to Cambridgeshire, England and completed her Optometry degree
at Anglia Ruskin University in 2017. After a few years of practice, Dr. Chavda
decided to move back to Canada and completed the International Optometric
Bridging program in 2021. She joined the practice in 2021.
In her spare time, Dr.
Chavda enjoys travelling, spending time with her family, skiing and hiking.
Dr. Chavda is enjoying
the village of Manotick and is looking forward to meeting members of the
community.
